The individual is responsible for leading Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery initiatives on an enterprise and departmental level, focusing on delivering a robust Business Continuity program. This includes implementing and maintaining the Business Continuity Plan and emergency notification systems to ensure alignment with policy and regulatory requirements, and the development and implementation of reporting across multiple levels in the Bank.

The individual will lead activities necessary to enable the Bank to respond to a business disruption, including managing new and ongoing projects and incidents.  The Business Continuity Manager is expected to keep abreast of any changes within FFIEC guidance and industry best practice related to business continuity and disaster recovery, and advise the CISO as to any changes that should be made within the program to ensure compliance. Additionally, this position will assist the CISO, CTO and Director of Operations to integrate good BC/DR practices throughout the organization (including IT Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Physical Security and Vendor Management).




  • Create and manage Business Continuity policy, standards, procedures, materials and documentation, ensuring compliance with FFIEC guidance and Corporate policy.
  • Develop and implement a sustainable process for ongoing metrics, compliance and program maturity reports, regulatory reports, and other reporting as required.
  • Develop and implement ongoing Business Continuity planning efforts to identify potential business disruptions, develop safeguards against these interruptions, and implement recovery procedures in the event of a business interruption.
  • Implement and maintain the Business Continuity and Emergency Notification software, including user access, security, updates, troubleshooting, reporting, enhancements and improvement of functionality.
  • Conduct Business Impact Analysis (BIA) with each internal department, utilize BIA to develop Business Continuity Plans for all critical functions, ensure all plans are entered into the software system, and validate each plan within the software system to ensure compliance.
  • Based on plan evaluation, communicate with department on the functions identified as critical and if necessary make recommendations on plan to meet the required level of action.
  • On call 24x7 responsibilities to respond to, coordinate, and manage events that cause, or have the potential to cause, a disruption to the Bank's operations; including business resumption.
  • In the event of an incident, this role serves as Coordinator, ensuring plans are properly communicated, implemented and appropriate measures are followed. Initiates communication with management on appropriate group messaging and ensure messages are sent via the emergency notification system.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with business partners, designated business continuity coordinators, Information Security colleagues, Internal Audit, and BC/DR vendors to assure that operational priorities, dependencies, and risks are identified and addressed by business lines and/or the Bank
  • Responsible for developing, monitoring and refining parameters as needed for business and regulatory requirements, compliance, and policy adherence, including ensuring response and recovery procedures are appropriate.
  • Conduct annual Table Top or Actual testing of all critical functions across the Bank to ensure plans meet impact requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all employees are trained on BC/DR and their plan in preparation of an incident occurring.
  • Responsible for Business Impact Analysis- troubleshoot findings, prepare and present analysis report for review by the CISO.
  • Provide periodic reports to the CISO on the Business Continuity Program to be included in the quarterly and annual reports to the Board of Directors.
  • Serve as back-up to Vendor Manager.





• Bachelor’s degree required
• Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCM) or other BC/DR certification required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery experience required (preferably in Financial Institutions).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe products required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
