Under minimal supervision, performs various support duties pertinent to meeting the needs of our high profile customers and development of new business.



  • Maintains customer credit and collateral files. For new customers, creates and organizes the credit and collateral files.
  • Review with manager, commercial account activity and issues on a scheduled basis. Maintain department account log tracking opened accounts and average balances on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Obtain various reports related to new or renewal loans for the Relationship Manager(s), including, but not limited to, business and personal credit reports, OFAC inquiries, UCC lien searches, flood certifications, environmental reports, good standing verifications, and account verifications from the bank’s Risk Management Department.
  • Coordinates closing activities for new and renewal loans for the relationship manager, including ordering internally-prepared loan documents, and coordinating document preparation with outside counsel.
  • Ensures that loan documents are properly executed before loan disbursements are made, with the approval of the Relationship Manager.
  • Coordinate the recording of deeds of trust and financing statements (UCC-1) and follow-up for timely receipt of recorded documents.
  • Complete all internal forms required to properly book new and renewal credits.
  • Process advances for lines of credit for the Relationship Manager.
  • Monitor loan documentation exception reports and follow-up to clear document exceptions on a timely basis.
  • Manage routine follow-up on delinquent accounts less than 30 days past due.
  • Follow-up on receipt of updated financial information from customers to facilitate loan renewals and annual risk rating reviews.
  • Coordinates with Relationship Manager to manage maturing loans.
  • Act as primary contact for resolution of problems associated with commercial loans and letters of credit, coordinating problem resolution between customers, Loan Operations, and Credit Administration.
  • Process documentation required for issue of letters of credit, coordinating between customer, and Credit Administration.
  • Process expense reports.
  • Making copies, filing, and other general clerical functions.
  • Coordinate with retail staff on deposit activities for commercial customers.
  • Attend scheduled planning sessions within assigned market area.
  • Set appointments for VP Commercial Services/Business Development.
  • Maintain correspondences on behalf of Market President.
  • Perform periodic review & files updates purging when necessary.
  • Maintain log, guest lists, menus, contracts of all commercial marketing events. Coordinate with various entities to schedule events.



  • High school diploma or equivalent with some on the job experience; some college preferred. Alternatively, college degree with some relevant bank experience.
  • Completion of a bank training program in lending or credit administration; good knowledge of loan documentation.
  • At least two years successful experience as a Lending Assistant.



  • Years of commercial-banking experience combined with the complexity of commercial relationships serviced will be primary considerations for applicant selection.  
  • Proven ability to retain and cultivate business.
  • Excellent Internal and external customer relations skills
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Strong work ethic, time management skill, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Good office skills, including computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, or equivalents), knowledge of office equipment (copier, fax, printer, scanner). 


  • The Portfolio Manager position is a senior administrative support position that can lead to a position as a Credit Analyst, Lending Officer or other positions within related credit areas of the Bank. The Portfolio Manager position may provide direct support to a Regional President, Market President, or several Relationship Managers.
