Responsibilities

The Product Manager is responsible for creating strategies around the development, marketing and distribution of assigned United Bank products and coordinating the implementation of same. This includes enhancing the functionality of current products, developing new ideas, assessing customer interest, understanding and improving product profitability, and driving customer adoption of the Bank’s products.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Work closely with the Marketing Department and key vendors to identify a combination of services that targeted customers will value
  • Work with Retail and/or Commercial Banking representatives to develop pricing, packaging, placement, and/or promotion strategies to deliver improved profitability from assigned products.
  • Present product strategy to Senior Management for approval; document and amend/defend, as needed
  • Outline potential risks, challenges, opportunities and goals of the product offering
  • Create a communications plan to educate customers and promote adoption/acceptance of products and services
  • Monitor and report on the adoption rates/costs/net income of products
  • Analyze potential partner relationships for product offerings
  • Closely monitor competitor offerings and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement
  • May direct the activity of Product Analysts and Product Specialists associated with assigned products

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, finance, business management or another related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional related banking experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Extensive working knowledge of finance and marketing required
  • Prior product management experience is highly desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and service oriented skills essential

Essential Functions:

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Sufficient dexterity of hands and fingers to efficiently operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other computer components.
  • Ability to converse and exchange information with all levels of staff within organization.
  • Ability to observe, perceive, identify, and translate data
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time via air, rail, automobile and/or bus.
