Responsibilities

The Director of Institutional Services will lead a team and be responsible for the management and growth of the Institutional line of business in the Wealth and Investment Management Division. Provide an expert level of guidance, advice and oversight.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Responsible for full management of staff hiring, development, coaching, performance management, recognition, and disciplinary actions
  • Accountable for the full scope of account management of assigned customers, including but not limited to, daily transactions, reviewing balances, ensuring funds are invested properly
  • Responsible for annual and periodic review of accounts to ensure compliance is met 
  • Responsible for leading client meetings for investment reviews, participant education/enrollment, updating plan documents, etc.
  • Communicating with TPAs on an ongoing basis to ensure that all necessary tests are performed, government filings are made, etc. Also act as liaison between clients and TPA.
  • Manage account transactions through external investment managers to ensure that investment manager trades do not cause customer accounts to be overdrawn
  • Responsible for generating and providing multi-account reconciliations
  • Responsible for reviewing all client fee invoices and responsible for collection of past due account invoices
  • Work closely with others in department on various other responsibilities and projects as necessary
  • Meeting new business development goals within the Institutional Line of Business
  • Lead the Institutional Services Group and participates in various senior level committees.
  • Participates in the strategic planning and decision making for the group.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of direct experience in the industry with extensive knowledge of retirement plans
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct staff management experience required
  • Professional/Industry designations is a plus (CEBS, CPA, QKA, QFPC, CRSP)
  • Strong knowledge of institutional products and services is required (Retirement Plans, Custody, Investments)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel) and utilizing the internet required
  • Ability to travel up to 20% for client meetings and enrollment support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to review and interpret documents
  • Understanding of basic accounting and budgeting concepts is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service focused skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to professionally represent the Company and department at internal and external meetings.
